Benefits of weight tracking

Whether your aim is to gain or to lose weight, studies show that making yourself accountable with weigh-ins can be helpful. It's important not to weigh yourself too often or to fixate on your weight. But keeping track every week or two can give you a good insight into the overall state of your health.

Remember that there are many factors that can influence the number on the scale such as time of day, water retention and the occurrence of your last bowel movement. So while it's useful to track your progress until you are at your healthiest weight, the most important thing is that you are consuming a healthy, balanced diet and are exercising regularly.
