How does the food barcode scanner work?

The Shido barcode scanner uses your phone’s camera to identify a product's UPC code and instantly retrieves matching nutritional information from our extensive database. This information is used to provide nutritional insights, ingredient analysis, and health scoring.

You will find the barcode scanner - Add Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Snack - to the right of the search bar; there is a barcode icon. Press the icon, and it will activate your phone's rear camera. A box shape will appear. You need to fill the box with the barcode of the product and take a picture. The item's details will then be recognised by the app, and you can input how many portions you consumed, and this will be added to your selected meal of the day.

Alternatively, you can click Menu (three lines on the bottom right corner of the app) - Food Analysis - Barcode.
