Whether you aim to gain or to lose weight, studies show that making yourself accountable with weigh-ins can be helpful. However, it is also important not to fixate on your weight and be mindful that there are many factors that can influence the number on the scale, such as time of day, water retention, salt intake and the occurrence of your last bowel movement.
So while it is useful to track your progress until you are at your healthiest weight, the most important thing is that you are consuming a healthy, balanced diet and are exercising regularly.
